Programme Overview
Department of Mathematical and Data Science at TAR UMT offers research programme leading to Master of Science degree for students who wish to excel in their academic excellence. It offers a substantial opportunity for independent study and gives students the opportunity to develop broader transferable skills in the processes of organizing, communicating and presenting their work, and will equip students well for further research or for a wide variety of other careers.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree (MQF, Level 6) in a Mathematics related field with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent as accepted by TAR UMT Senate; OR
A Bachelor's Degree (MQF, Level 6) in a Mathematics related field with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR
A Bachelor's Degree (MQF, Level 6) in a Mathematics related field not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field; OR
A Bachelor's Degree (MQF, Level 6) in a non-Mathematics related field with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the TAR UMT Senate, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment.
English Language Requirements
Malaysian Students
MUET Band 4.0 or IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR Mid B2 or TOEFL iBT 60 or equivalent ; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if medium of instruction during Bachelor studies was in English
International Students
IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR High B1, or TOEFL iBT 40 or equivalent ; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if medium of instruction during Bachelor studies was in English
