Programme Overview
Department of Mathematical and Data Science at TAR UMT offers the opportunity to study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Mathematical Sciences) in a thriving research environment. This programme served to those who are interested in research and require in-depth knowledge and experience in mathematics or statistics through individual and specialized research projects. The programme allow the students to acquire advanced knowledge in their fields of interest.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements
A Master's Degree (MQF, Level 7) in Mathematics or Statistics or Mathematical Science related as accepted by the Senate; OR
Other qualifications equivalent to a Master's Degree (MQF, Level 7) in Mathematics or Statistics or Mathematical Science related that are accepted by the Senate of TAR UMT.
English Language Requirements
Malaysian Students
MUET Band 4.0 or IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR Mid B2 or TOEFL iBT 60 or equivalent ; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if medium of instruction during Master studies was in English
International Students
IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR High B1 or TOEFL iBT 40 or equivalent ; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if medium of instruction during Master studies was in English
