TAR UMT FOCS Students Participated in WorldSkills Malaysia Belia 2026 Final Stage for IT Software Solutions for Business (ITSSB)

Four students from the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FOCS), Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), KL Main Campus, participated in the WorldSkills Malaysia Belia (WSMB) 2026 – IT Software Solution for Business Peringkat Akhir, held from 9 to 11 June 2026 at CIAT, Shah Alam. The competition was organised by Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK) as part of a national initiative to prepare competitors for careers as software engineers, full-stack developers, systems analysts, and enterprise application developers. It also serves as a platform to identify Malaysia's top young software development talent to represent the country in regional and international skills competitions such as the WorldSkills Competition.

The four TAR UMT FOCS students who qualified for the final stage were Liew Wen Jing, Low Mun Hou, Tan Ming Wei and Yap Li Weng, all from the Diploma Year 2 Semester 3 at the KL Main Campus. Their qualification to the final stage reflected their technical potential, commitment, and readiness to compete in a challenging skills-based environment alongside participants from other institutions.

The exposure gained through this national-level competition provides valuable experience that enhances students’ professional development and readiness for future careers in the software industry. It also reflects TAR UMT’s dedication to delivering quality education, promoting digital innovation, and preparing future computing professionals to meet the evolving demands of the technology sector.
