The Smart Integration Skills with YL-73B Internet of Things Machine training workshop was held from 7th to 11th April 2025 at the Centre of Excellence WorldSkills IoT-TAR UMT, which is currently located at the Integrated Innovation Hub (I2Hub). This program was specifically designed to equip national experts and coaches with the latest knowledge and skills in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT), with a focus on preparing participants for the Asean Skills Competition (ASC) 2025 and future participation in similar events.

The primary objectives of this workshop were twofold: firstly, to equip national experts and trainers with up-to-date knowledge and skills in the field of IoT, encompassing both the theoretical understanding and practical application related to the YL-73B IoT machine and broader smart integration techniques. Secondly, the workshop aimed to foster a collaborative network among IoT experts and Malaysian skills training institutions, encouraging knowledge sharing, best practice dissemination, and potential future collaborations within the IoT training landscape.

This program was meticulously organized by the Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), under the Ministry of Human Resource, in close collaboration with Advance Retro Solution Sdn Bhd. The workshop was honored to invite Mr. Hu Qun 胡群, an expert trainer from Yalong Intelligence Equipment Company based in Wenzhou, China, to share his expertise. The invited participants, comprising experts and coaches, included lecturers from the German-Malaysian Institute, Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST), Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara Petaling Jaya, and TAR UMT. Notably, two ASC 2025 participants from TAR UMT also actively participated in this training.

The training content encompassed the principles and methodologies for integrating various devices, sensors, and systems within an IoT ecosystem, utilizing the YL-73B IoT machine. Participants received specific training on the features, functionalities, programming, and applications of the Raspberry Pi and Node-RED platform as implemented within the YL-73B IoT machine. Furthermore, as part of the preparation for the Asean Skills Competition 2025, the workshop focused on the specific skill areas and challenges anticipated in the competition related to IoT. This involved hands-on exercises and simulated competition scenarios, mirroring the test projects expected in the actual competition.
