Dr. Anil Kumar, Professor, Poornima Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jaipur, India, visited Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Malaysia, under the Faculty Exchange Programme from 04 July to 11 July 2026.
The visit aimed to strengthen academic interaction, promote international collaboration, exchange teaching-learning practices, and explore future opportunities for joint academic and research activities between Poornima Group and TAR UMT.
During the visit, Dr. Anil Kumar interacted with faculty members, students, and academic leaders of TAR UMT. He delivered academic sessions on Software Security, Data Privacy, and Risk Management, with a focus on practical concepts, cybersecurity awareness, data breach checking tools, risk identification, and the importance of secure digital practices. The sessions received positive feedback from students, including those from non-security backgrounds, as they found the content informative and relevant.
As part of the academic engagement, discussions were held with TAR UMT faculty members on teaching-learning practices, classroom delivery, student engagement, research areas, project-based learning, laboratory practices, and international academic collaboration. Dr. Anil Kumar also observed TAR UMT’s academic infrastructure, including classrooms, laboratories, library facilities, learning spaces, innovation-oriented labs, and faculty workspace arrangements.
The visit included meaningful discussions on possible future collaboration in the areas of faculty exchange, student exchange, joint research projects, joint publications, Faculty Development Programmes, international conferences, workshops, internships, certification programmes, and Centres of Excellence in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Healthcare Technology.
Dr. Anil Kumar also had the opportunity to meet and interact with senior academic representatives and faculty members of TAR UMT, including Dean Ts. Lim Shen Huoy, Deputy Dean Assoc. Prof. Wong Thein Lai, Dr. Ng Yen Phing, Mr. Syafiq, and other respected faculty members who extended warm support and hospitality during the visit.
The Faculty Exchange Programme provided a valuable platform for academic exposure, knowledge sharing, cross-cultural learning, and strengthening institutional relations between India and Malaysia. The visit is expected to contribute to future academic partnerships, research collaboration, and international engagement between Poornima Group and TAR UMT.
