On July 8, the LGMS Industrial Visit was organized by the TAR UMT Computer Science Society. We were joined by about 100 students from TAR UMT. This fascinating trip offered networking chances and inspiration for the participants' personal and professional development, as well as hands-on learning experiences, insights into operations, and prospective career exploration.
'Digital Forensics Decoded: The Ultimate Adventure into Cyber Investigation at HQ' was the title of the first workshop, which was directed by Ms. Kanye Hoo Kah Yan, a senior digital forensic consultant from LGMS. This important topic was covered in an educational workshop that focused on finding, conserving, and analyzing electronic evidence for use in legal investigations.
The most thrilling portion of the session was when Ms. Kah Yan described how she found a hidden folder with encrypted files. This encounter increased suspicions and eventually revealed a wealth of private records and communication logs implicating the employee.
The second workshop, titled "WiFi Wars: Unmasking the Secrets of Public Networks at New Wings," was also provided to the participants.Mr. Robinson Leiu Kok Wei, a cyber security consultant from LGMS, was featured in it. Mr. Robinson talked about his personal hacking experiences. The awareness that the challenges and technical expertise required to hack vary according to different conditions made the workshop the most engaging.
There are two types of hackers: White Hat Hackers and Black Hat Hackers. He also reminded the audience that without appropriate cybersecurity, hackers might disrupt businesses and even national security and put their personal information and financial assets at danger. He provided several helpful tips for preventing device hacking during the workshop.
We were also having an office tour session after the workshop. The office was well-organized, effective, and collaborative. It encourages creativity, has comfortable workspaces, and has great connectivity. It prioritizes security and supports ongoing learning. There is excellent communication, innovation and problem-solving are highly valued.
