Hackathon Victory at ETHKL

We are thrilled to share that our team recently secured Top 5 Finalist, along with multiple prizes including the ICP-Ethereum Chain Fusion Challenge: Bridging DeFi Worlds Prize, Build with ORA Pool Prize, Worldcoin Pool Prize, and Deploy on Scroll Pool Prize in ETHKL, held from 4th Oct to 6th Oct. This event attracted over 250 participants from 20 countries, making it a highly competitive platform.

In total, our team won prizes worth USD $3,535. Our project, titled JustETH, addresses the challenge of fake food reviews, centralized review platforms, and unreliable food reviews. By utilizing innovative technologies such as blockchain and AI, we developed a solution that was recognized for its innovation, creativity, technical skill, and impact. The judges commended our project for changing how food reviews should be, helping us secure the prizes and a spot as a Top 5 Finalist.

The project focuses on using dynamic review power based on food preference and reliability, aiming to solve the problem of fake and unreliable food reviews by using technologies like blockchain, AI, and identity verification. Our approach stood out in several areas, including the use of an algorithm to determine final review weightage, making the food review app decentralized and transparent.

Throughout the hackathon, we encountered several challenges. The ideation process was initially difficult as we struggled to gain recognition for our idea, but through discussion and brainstorming, we came up with a more feasible and impactful concept. Additionally, we faced technical issues such as slow transactions, inconsistent gas fees, and time constraints. However, through collaboration and problem-solving, we successfully overcame these obstacles. This experience allowed us to further enhance our skills in prototype development, ideation, and programming.

Our project was awarded Top 5 Finalist, along with several prizes including the ICP-Ethereum Chain Fusion Challenge: Bridging DeFi Worlds Prize, Build with ORA Pool Prize, Worldcoin Pool Prize, and Deploy on Scroll Pool Prize, with total winnings of USD $3,535, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our team. The judges specifically highlighted our innovation, complex prototype, and effective use of AI and blockchain technology. This achievement not only adds value to our personal portfolios but also provides an opportunity for TARUMT to showcase the talent emerging from its students.
