APU BOH 2024 CTF competition and Forensics Game 2024 

On 28 September 2024, seven teams comprising 20 students from the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology participated in the Malaysia category of the APU Battle of Hackers (BOH) 2024, whereas three teams comprising 9 students competed in the Forensics Game 2024. Both competitions were held at Asia Pacific University (APU). We are delighted to announce the outstanding achievement of our teams: Team BoomXhakalaka secured the 2nd Runner-Up position in the of APU Battle of Hackers (BOH) 2024 CTF national category Competition, showcasing their exceptional skills. Team Z3r021 achieved an 8th place in the same competition.

The national category of the APU Battle of Hackers (BOH) 2024 attracted 160 teams and 465 participants from universities across Malaysia, reflecting the highly competitive nature of the event. Meanwhile, the Forensics Game 2024 drew 78 teams and 231 participants, challenging students to analyse digital evidence, recover data, and trace cybercrimes.

Both competitions aimed to raise awareness of cybersecurity and digital forensics while providing hands-on experience with real-life cybersecurity challenges. These events have helped participants enhance their skills and prepare for future challenges in the field.

The experience was invaluable for the TAR UMT teams, and we extend our warmest congratulations to all participants!
