We are proud to share that a group of RST (Bachelor of Computer Science (Honors) in Interactive Software Technology) students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), who formed the team “Toffee Games,” has won Third Place in the Better Ground Competition held on 15 August 2025. The students are Gregory Chia Ming Feng, Cha Wan Xun, Justin Liew Jhun Kin and Kee Yun Rui.
Organized by JA Malaysia, the Better Ground Competition gathered pre-university and university students nationwide with the aim of enhancing self-directed learning, fostering creative thinking and problem-solving, and deepening participants’ understanding of the rapidly evolving gaming industry and its diverse roles, particularly as it integrates with emerging technologies and fields. The program challenged students to undergo a comprehensive process including project plan production, online workshops, project submissions, and pitching presentations before showcasing their final product.
Team Toffee Games stood out with their virtual reality (VR) game project, “Mystera”, where players take on the role of a wizard who crafts potions and casts magical spells using voice commands in the fantasy world. This achievement reflects the creativity, dedication, and teamwork of TAR UMT students, and underscores the university’s commitment to nurturing future talent in the creative and digital industries. We extend our heartiest congratulations to the students for their outstanding accomplishment!
